This is a team that has long been on the rise.
They did obviously, like I said, make the playoffs this year.
They're looking to kind of take that next step.
Do you think that this is the right man for the job?
And how much pressure do you think is on him knowing that he's just got one year on his extension?
Well, I think the proof of them being unsure of him being the man for the job is the fact that they only gave him a one-year extension.
It's sort of, I mean, I remember, and this is a different situation, Randy Carlisle back in the day with Toronto getting a one-year extension when he had a year left in his contract, and then he was fired in, I think, January of the first year.
So the second year was basically a golden parachute.
I mean, I had heard rumors that Tournier might have been fired if they didn't make the playoffs this year, and they did.
And, you know, we've seen throughout history coaches with a young team can get that young team only a certain distance, and then you need somebody to come in to get them to the next step.
I think they're hedging their bets here.
I think they're looking at a really good young team that he has coached the last few years and seeing what he can do with them.
And if he can't do what they expect him to do, then they probably let him go after this year, and he has a year left in the contract.
But that's what I think is going on here.
