Jaxon Smith-Njigba is Better Than Puka Nacua

So you mean to tell me they're ranking Jaxon Smith-Njigba, the NFL's reigning Offensive Player of the Year, as the second-best receiver in football?
Yeah, I'm not buying it.
What's up, y'all?
It's Ross Jonathan with A to Z Sports, and PFF put out their list of top 10 wide receivers in the NFL ahead of the 2020-- 2026 season, as you can see here, and Jaxon Smith-Njigba is second behind the man right above me, Puka Nacua.
Now, look, I'm not gonna do the whole thing where we act like one guy's trash just because we don't agree with the list.
Puka Nacua is outstanding.
You can see his stats all over the page here, led the league in receptions last year, second in yardage, and had ten touchdowns.
And he's been an insane player ever since he entered the league.
He just hit the league by storm.
But when you look at Jaxon Smith-Njigba, his numbers are right up there as well.
I mean, he was fourth in receptions, not far behind Puka, first in yardage ahead of him, and had the same amount of touchdowns.
Keep in mind, this is all regular season, and maybe he hasn't had the overall career yet that Puka's had through three seasons, partly because of injury, but he was the best receiver in football last year.
And look, quite simply, this comes down to one thing for me.
Because while Puka Nacua was the leading receiver for an MVP quarterback in Matthew Stafford, JSN was the leading receiver for a non-MVP quarterback on a Super Bowl-winning team.
Sam Darnold was excellent for Seattle and made a lot of good plays throughout the season and was the right quarterback for that team, but he ain't Matthew Stafford, and Jaxon Smith-Njigba made Sam Darnold look awesome, like he did in Minnesota the year before with Justin Jefferson.
But Sam Darnold looked really good for the most part and led his team to the Super Bowl by throwing the football mainly to that guy, Jaxon Smith-Njigba.
So look, at the end of the day, Puka Nacua is an incredible wide receiver.
So is Ja'Marr Chase, so is Justin Jefferson.
But if we are ranking the top ten dudes based off of last year heading into this season, JSN is the number one receiver in the National Football League, no question about it.
