You know our team was just missing one piece, and we were missing that Jaylen Waddle, uh, you know, we were missing that electrifying dude that can, you know, can come across the middle, can, can, can get the deep ball, can have that speed around the edge, and, uh, I know him and Cortland, which I've had a relationship with Cortland for so many years and seeing what he can do, and those two are just freaks of nature, man.

I mean, it's gonna be really hard for defenses to, to try to scheme us up when you have two electrifying receivers like that, and we couldn't be more blessed to have a guy like that, a big-time playmaker for us.

So is Jaylen Waddle that missing piece for the Broncos to get to Super Bowl 61, Manta ?

Well, he's definitely that missing piece for Sean Payton.

When I watched Bo Nix last year, he, he, he took a step back for me.

Uh, I, I watched the Denver Broncos and I watched what I, what seemed like to me Sean Payton was trying to figure out how can I get Bo Nix comfortable.

Do I roll him out?

Do I keep him in the pocket?

Do I throw horizontally instead of vertically?

OK, now do I throw vertically instead of horizontally?

Well, a lot of that comes from Sean Payton didn't have his toy, and that toy is called the Joker.

When you understand how Sean Payton likes to curate his offense, there's 1 position, there's 11 positions on the field.

The most important is the quarterback.

The second in Sean Payton's system is this Joker position.

Alvin Kamara played that, uh, when I was in, in, in New Orleans.

The Joker position is this problem solver.

He's an all-purpose cleaner.

He's a guy that no matter what happens, he's the go to.

He's the, the, the by default, that's where I'm going, so.

Now that Sean Payton has his Joker, I think he can help out his young quarterback even more.

Now he's going to be able to curate plays to make things very, very comfortable for Bo Nix.

So I think this is the missing piece.

Now, is it the missing piece to win them the Super Bowl?

I don't know, but it is the missing piece to what I know Sean Payton, Mike G, Sean Payton's offense can look like.

I love, I see when Mantii's here, this is great because it's gonna counter what I'm about to say because I was looking for last week, last week on the show, we did this great breakdown of how AJ Brown fits perfectly for what the Patriots want, his ability to bring yak, which they hadn't have, and his ability to run routes that Bo Nix has thrown extremely well.

So I, I, I went on this deep dive with Waddle to see how he is the perfect missing piece and I actually came across a Reddit thread.

This was perfect, uh, because this guy goes, you know, uh, for all let's talk about the deep routes and you're probably.

It's really the intermediate routes that are gonna break because he'll catch the ball and he'll be able to run with it, and then the first reply underneath it was catch ball, run fast, we win.

Got it.

Like that's, that's at that point I was like, you know what, I think that's it for the research.

He's a dynamic weapon.

Sean Payton's gonna find a way to use him.

That's perfect.

And it's in that joker role, but from a technical standpoint for me, catch ball, run fast.

That's the key.

Um, I, I think this is great for Bo Nix.

There's a thing that happened with Bo Nix last year where he, he seemed to never really lead the story about the Broncos.

We talk about him, everybody talks about him.

It's the defense is amazing.

The 2nd, 3rd topic is the defense is amazing, the coach is amazing, and Bo Nix is really solid.

No, he's more than solid.

his resume right now, just a couple of years in is awesome, but I think he needs weapons.

I think he needs like more toys to play with, and the smart teams and the smart coaches don't just sit on solid.

Don't sit on solid.

We have a great defense.

We don't want a solid quarterback.

We want a great quarterback , especially going into year 3, and it's tick, tick, tick, tick, ticking until we're going to have to pay him a solid contract extension.

So I love that there's toys there to play.

You know, I don't know if Jaylen Waddle would have helped them last year in the playoff game that they lost.

I don't know if Jerry Rice would have helped them in that playoff game that they lost.

It was a very, very strange game, but I know it helped them this year.

If you look at the Broncos last year and some of their biggest opponents, whoever they were playing in the AFC, there's a handful of games they did not score a lot of points and still won.

I love that they're not OK with that.

They need to score more.

They need to be more explosive, and Sean Payton is playing for keeps.

I like it.
