Jazz Chisholm Hints at Potential Move to Philadelphia Phillies
Could Jazz Chisholm join the Philadelphia Phillies in MLB free agency?

So right now, Luis Arias is the Phillies second baseman, but he's headed for free agency during the off-season, and there is some debate as to whether or not the Phillies will bring him back, given the potential price tag.
So if Arias does walk over the winter, who could the Phillies replace him with?
Well, one potential option that has surfaced is Jazz Chisholm, and Chisholm kind of dropped a little bit of a hint that he could be interested in the Phillies while speaking to Randy Miller on hit.com, saying that he, you know, he loved Don Mattingly, he loves what the Phillies are doing, guys like Bryce Harper, Kyle Schwarber, the pitching they have.
And he made it pretty clear that the Phillies would be of interest to him without going as far to say so.
Now, one thing I will say is that Mattingly, the prevailing thought is that anything short of a World Series appearance will result in his dismissal from his interim position as Phillies manager.
But remember, Mattingly was Chisholm's manager in Miami.
They made a couple playoff appearances together, and Chisholm's very familiar with Don Mattingly.
Now, do I think the Phillies will keep Mattingly just to sign some free agents like Chisholm?
No.
But you have to admit Mattingly has done a solid job of role here in Ph- in Philadelphia.
So maybe there will be a little bit more of a debate as to whether or not they will bring him back for twenty twenty-seven, depending on how the playoffs go.
As for Chisholm, he's hitting just two thirty this year, has nineteen home runs, has been nearly as effective as he was a year ago.
He had thirty-one home runs with eight thirteen OPS.
So I'm not even sure the Phillies would be that interested in signing him, and nor should they.
You know, Chisholm has long been a very inconsistent player, known for having a volatile personality.
And I'm not sure he'd be the better fit than Arias in Philadelphia anyway.
Now, Arias could end up being more costly because of the year he's having compared to Chisholm.
But in that case, the Phillies may be better off just shelling out some extra dollars to retain Arias for second base rather than going for Chisholm, who, you know, appears to be the inferior player.
So we'll see what happens during the off-season, but Chisholm is one name to watch potentially for Philadelphia in free agency.
