Joe Brady Warns James Cook: More Fumbles Could Mean Fewer Carries

Buffalo Bills coach Joe Brady says James Cook III will see fewer carries if his ball security doesn't improve. Cook fumbled twice in the Bills' 37-34 overtime win over the Rams in Week 5, including on the opening possession of overtime right after a 57-yard Josh Allen connection with Khalil Shakir, and now has four fumbles through five games. Brady praised Cook's running (106.4 yards per game so far in 2026) but said the turnovers are wiping out the positives. Backups Ty Johnson and Ray Davis have combined for five carries for 8 yards plus 12 catches for 166 yards.
