John Summerall's SEC Take Is a Breath of Fresh Air for Florida
John Summerall isn't complaining about the SEC schedule. Nick de la Torre reacts to the Florida head coach's refreshing comments at SEC Media Days and explains why his mindset stands out from the rest of the conference.

We knew going into the season that John Sumrall was just a different breed of head coach.
And the recruiting process is showing that, his energy, how he talks, and everything is just genuine about him.
And it's what made this quote so very interesting at SEC Media Days.
He was explicitly asked about the nine-game schedule, and he was-- just said, "I'm not gonna whine and complain about being an SEC head football coach."
And he's right.
These are some of the best jobs that you can have in America and professional football.
And why would you complain?
Look, nine games is a little bit harder than eight, and then sure, you have to play a Power Four opponent on top of that, but the Gators do every year in Florida State, so it really does not impact them at all.
But this is a significantly different tone than we see from the rest of the conference, including Kirby Smart openly talking about leaving and creating a super conference.
And then you have Nick Saban, who is now talking about how you should play twelve games against the Power Five, and this flies against everything that we have heard thus far when it comes to the, whatchamacallit, the SEC coaches as a whole.
It's crazy because Saban always scheduled multiple cupcakes and positioned them right before LSU, right before Auburn.
He knew that he needed to do that to help the team, and now he's talking about playing twelve games?
That just doesn't make sense.
It's what makes this quote from Sumrall all the more impressive because he could have done the same thing and talked about, "Hey, I think that we should have a little bit of easier schedule.
Hey, we don't need to play nine conference games."
No, he's all for it, and he's right.
