Josh Jacobs Fights Release of Police Records and Video From Battery Case

Packers running back Josh Jacobs has appealed the Hobart/Lawrence Police Department's decision to release redacted records and video of the altercation with his girlfriend that led to his May arrest. Jacobs argues that the woman wants the material kept private for her own privacy and safety, and that blurring names or faces would not hide who she is. His attorneys also say a release could make him a target for robbery and property crimes. Last month he pleaded no contest to battery and was fined $1,000. He also took a deferred judgment on a property damage charge and was ordered to stay away from the victim, attend counseling and pay her restitution. He has not played in 2026 and remains on the commissioner's exempt list, with a possible suspension still undecided.
