So I was sitting there the other day when Shadi, I, I cer- certainly interpreted his comments to mean, yeah, the left tackle's gonna be Tyler Guyton.
He's, he's, he's earning the job.
Then he, in his press conference today, he makes it sound like we're the ones who jumped the gun, and maybe we did.
And he said, "Yeah, Guyton's running first, but there's still competition here."
Nate Thomas is not anywhere near as talented as Tyler Guyton.
So as I've said many times, they want Tyler Guyton to win the job because he's got the tools to do it.
They also probably need him to win the job to keep the egg off their face.
Where do you think we're going here?

A- and I absolutely agree with you.
I think Schottenheimer definitely said what we think he said initially, and then, I, I love Ryan Schottenheimer.
I think he's great at the podium.
I don't want him to change, but I think he maybe didn't like how the message ended up looking, and he wanted to get Tyler Guyton back into that competing mindset maybe.
Sounds to me like what he said initially was more of a criticism to the way that Nate Thomas is playing than a testament to the way that Tyler Guyton is playing.
I don't know if you agree with me on that, but it sounds to me like they're not seeing what they want to see out of Nate Thomas.
Doesn't necessarily mean that they love everything that Tyler Guyton has done, even though he's looked very well at practice, and I would see him as a positive of, of the early padded practices that we've had so far.
But Schottenheimer absolutely said what he said, and then he even kind of reiterated it today when he was like, l- like, he's saying there's a competition, but he's also saying Nate Thomas isn't doing enough to make it a competition.
