Justin Gaethje Won’t Turn Down Trilogy Fight Against Dustin Poirier
Justin Gaethje indicated he would consider a rubber fight with Dustin Poirier if Poirier ends retirement, noting his priority remains a potential lightweight title unification later this year. Justin Gaethje said a trilogy fight with Dustin Poirier would depend on Poirier's return and UFC approval. He won the interim lightweight belt by defeating Paddy Pimblett at UFC 324 last month and is expected to face champion Ilia Topuria to unify. The rivalry stands 1-1: Poirier won by fourth-round TKO in 2018, and Gaethje won via head kick in 2023. Poirier retired after a unanimous decision loss to Max Holloway last year. Gaethje spoke to Bloody Elbow.
