I mean, I think if, we just treat the reset like the start of the season, and we can get back to, you know, fresh legs, playing the way we were, you know, details and, and how we wanna play our system, things like that, I think, you know, it's definitely doable, and, and we know it's in the locker room, and, we'll see how the first few games goes.
And you mentioned the start of the season, because I feel like a lot of fans, they look at that start and are like, "Wow, this team has really got it this year."
Fall- fell off a little bit, but I feel like the team really didn't change much to fall off.
How do you compare that start of the year to right now?
Yeah, I mean, i- it's tough to, to compare the two.
I think there's still been a lot of good games sprinkled in, you know, when we fell off a little bit there.
and, and it's just a matter of believing and, and, you know, getting one or two of those bounces to, you know, maybe build our confidence back up a little bit, and, you know, guys I, I-- like I said, I know guys have it in the locker room, and I know we all believe in it, so we'll just see how it all shakes out.
What do you go back to?
If you go back to three things, "If we do these couple of things right, we have a shot here."
I think, the details of, you know, our system, how we wanna play, sticking to it, no matter what the score is during a game.
Even if we get blown out for a game, you just You don't, you know, veer away from what we're trying to do day in and day out.
and then I also think just having fun around the rink again.
You know, just I think the, the break's been a good reset for everybody.
And then, I would say, I think our practice habits, you know, we weren't able to practice a lot.
I know every team's gone through that with the Olympic break.
You had to pack everything in, and then, you know, when we got together as a team over the break, I thought our practices were great, and, you know, we got back to the tempo we wanted to be at.
And I've gotta ask you about just observing the Olympics as someone who, who loves the sport of hockey.
You had so many casual fans that maybe didn't know a ton about the sport tuning in.
It just seems like it really grew the game on the biggest stage.
What did you think observing it?
Yeah, I mean, it was great.
you know, and I was cheering on the guys in our locker room who were there, watching all the time, texting them.
So, yeah, it was great, and, and, I think, you know, the men's and the women's side both, you know, finished in overtimes, exciting games, and, that's the stuff that, you know, pulls fans in, you wanna watch more of.
Mm-hmm.
And seeing Dan Vladar in the Olympics- Yeah and what an incredible story he has been.
Truthfully, I don't think many of us knew what he would be about coming here to Philadelphia.
Yeah.
How much do you feel like even the Flyers being in the conversation right now to make a playoff push, how much credit goes to him for that?
Yeah, he's a big part of it.
and he's gonna be a big part of it going forward here.
He's, he's a great teammate.
He's a guy you wanna play in front of.
you know, a lot of chatter, and, you know, he has a good voice in the room, too.
If we're not playing great, he'll come in the locker room, let us know.
he'll talk to us on the ice, during, during games, too.
So, then he backs it up with, with You know, when he messes up, he's the first to say it, and, I just think he's a huge part of the leadership on this team and, and getting us where we wanna go.
We've seen so many stages of Travis Konecny here with the Flyers, and now such a veteran presence in this room.
This point of your career, how bad do you want this?
How bad do you wanna be in the conversation for the playoffs?
Oh, yeah.
Yeah, of course.
I mean, I think, uh-
