Gonna be there.
I think that attests to the coaching that he receives.
Dennis Mitchell is one of the best US coaches, I think, that we've seen in a long time, besides, like, you know, Bobby Kersee.
You know, somebody who has multiple champions, multiple medals.
And so I think that he's set up to do well this race.
I don't see Dennis sending him here without him having something under his belt.
Set.
Who gets out?
Who runs the turn?
My hands are sweating.
We got- Kenny looks- Oh, who was that in the center?
Was that Kenny?
Kenny's out.
Oh.
That's Tavongo crushing.
Kenny is ripping.
Oh, man, he is full.
I knew it.
Not the man.
Oh, gosh.
Watch out.
Oh, gosh.
Uh-oh.
Oh, gosh.
Uh-oh.
Oh, gosh.
Don't let up, Tavongo.
What's that 123?
All right.
Hey, 19.69.
Whoa.
Woo.
Meet record.
Obviously a season's best.
Whoa.
Go Kenny.
A 10th, 10th of a second off his personal best.
What'd he say?
He said, he said- That is- "That, that beef is behind me."
Ooh.
Yeah, lot of beef behind him.
Oh.
Wow.
So that is two hundredths of a second off of the world lead from Goutouite.
Whoa.
We all had the- Season opener Trying to tell you 19.69.
Wow.
Meet record.
Kenny.
So we have right now live from Rabat, Kenny Bednarek.
Yo.
19.69.
Kenny- Wow how you doing?
Nice run.
Geez.
I'm doing good.
You look good.
As soon as the block, as soon as the gun w- as soon as the gun went off and I started gaining the ground on them, I was like, "Damn, I'm moving."
So I was like, just- keep holding on to it.
It doesn't usually feel that way?
I mean, I knew, I knew I was in good shape.
nah, not usually, but this is the first time I opened up my season kind of late, so, you know, whatever we've been doing's been working.
Yeah, man.
Yeah, 'cause I know you don't wanna tell us, but can you give us just a snippet of what the difference is from this season to last season?
Because Kenny, what?
I've just been focused on the small things.
I mean, over the past few years I've always been getting better and better and better, so, you know, this is just accumulation of the hard work that I've been having the past four to five years.
And this year I just feel a lot stronger.
You know, I ran this time and we've done little, little speed work, so I'm saying that we Yeah, as you can see, I'm tired.
Just saying that we, we're heading towards the right direction.
Yeah, I mean, I said before the race, you always look, look fit.
Your results are always consistent.
You're always near the front.
I picked you to win this race.
I c- I don't know about everybody else in the studio- Me too.
but I had you to pick this race.
Me too.
Season opener.
I appreciate it.
Has it Like, as you have processed the end of this race and seen that number next to your name, has it, has it sunk in what this just was, what you just did?
No, not quite yet, but like I said, give me, like, an hour or two.
I'll talk to my coach and then it'll sink in.
But like I said, just, just from seeing the results as a opener, this is the fastest I've ran my opener in the 200, so that's good signs for this year, and the next few years too, so.
Kenny, there, there, no, there's no worlds obviously, so I know, not a, not a chance to, to get that gold this year.
But, there is the Ultimate Championship, there's Diamond League Final, there's some names out there you might wanna get.
Like, what do, how do you put a marker on this season?
you know, coach and I have s- looked at this year and said, "Yeah, it's a off year," but we have goals that we wanna achieve, to beat.
So we're working hard like every other year.
I'm just making sure to take care of my body, which I usually do, 'cause, you know, I'm the most, one of the most consistent out there.
And that's just from how much I take care of my body.
But, you know, I, I, I got a lot of names I wa- you know, take, check off on my, list.
Any in particular that you wanna tell us?
nobody in p- particular.
I'm just gonna take anybody.
Is there a country?
Is there a- is there a nationality in particular that w- that we're talking about here?
Hey, man.
Hey, I, I got this- Next step, when I step on the line, you're gonna see.
All right.
All right.
There we go.
There we go.
Period.
Kenny, awesome run.
Where are we gonna see you next?
I got, Stockholm, and then I'm going back home.
And, you know, I've been out here for a pr- pretty much almost a month, so, you know, miss my home, miss my girl, miss my dogs.
I need a rest.
There you go.
All right.
Well, well, enjoy the travels.
Rip it in Sweden, and, safe travels home.
All right.
Thank you.
Appreciate y'all.
Bye, Kenny.
