Kyle Teel Is Closing In on a Much Needed White Sox Return
White Sox catcher Kyle Teel is beginning a rehab assignment and could return in time to help Chicago create separation atop the AL Central.

The catching position has been a nightmare for the White Sox in twenty twenty-six.
Drew Romo hasn't hit.
Edgar Caro hasn't hit.
They went out and traded for Joey Bart at the trade deadline, then he broke his hand just three games into his White Sox tenure.
Jake Rogers claimed off waivers.
Yes, he hit a walk-off home run on Friday night against the New York Mets, but still two for fourteen since joining the White Sox and makes it hard to know what he's gonna bring to the table moving forward.
The real elephant in the room is and has always been Kyle Teal.
The most viable path to the White Sox getting production from catching this year is Kyle Teal making a return and looking like his old self.
His left ankle sprain sustained on July twentieth in Texas was initially feared to be season-ending.
But all along the way, Teal has been ahead of schedule in his return, and it now appears his return is imminent for the White Sox.
He, took drills in the outfield back on August eleventh.
He took BP on August seventeenth for the first time, and now the White Sox are looking to get Kyle Teal on a rehab assignment.
Starting this week, he will go on a rehab assignment, play in games, probably do that for a week, and then right at the start of September, could rejoin the White Sox.
The White Sox have done a decent enough job treading water for the last few months, maintaining their lead in the AL Central, but three-and-a-half game lead over the Guardians, a little less, a little over thirty games to go, rather.
This is go time.
This is now where you need to create cushion for yourself, where you need to create separation and run away.
And the big thing is going to be getting production from every spot in the lineup, including catcher.
It's a manageable schedule the rest of the way, and hopefully Kyle Teal can come back and hope-- help the White Sox lineup produce consistent runs and run away with the division.
His first stint with the club wasn't exactly a, a dream scenario.
He didn't perform up to expectations all the time, then landed back on the IL.
But we do have reason to believe Kyle Teal is going to course-correct and look a little bit more like his rookie year self.
So back on a rehab assignment, close to returning.
