The new Capitals forward is looking forward to bouncing back after a bit of a down year in St. Louis.

John, we know that the Capitals are headed for, whether it's this year, next year, in the immediate future, at some point they're heading for life after Ovechkin.
So this is gonna be a, a critical, critical time in their franchise timeline, I think.
How do you feel Carberry is, is equipped to handle this kinda next step for this franchise?
Yeah, I still think Spencer Carberry's underrated, just by, like, the general public.
Like, and then the Capitals, I mean, Ovi's, you know, up there now, so they're not, you know, what they were 10 years ago.
But they're still, you know, a decent team.
I think obviously they missed the playoffs.
I mean, that's, like Mike said, it's not Carberry's fault.
Like, it's, it's an okay team.
You know, they made the playoffs, but they're not, like, a contender anymore.
Nobody's up there.
Like Mike said, if Carberry were to hit the open market, he would've been the number one coach available by a long shot.
I mean, you would have teams lining up.
I mean, we saw it happen with Jim Montgomery, like, you know, the Blues made a coaching change just to get him.
I think Carberry's that caliber of coach.
I, and, you know, the c- like Mike said, the Capitals are smart to keep him, because they're gonna need him to coach a team that's not gonna have its, you know, its captain and its soul in, you know, maybe a year or two
