The Lakers made headlines in the first day of free agency, but a lot of their fans don't know how to feel about it.
After losing LeBron James, the Lakers agreed to a four-year, one hundred and eighty-five million dollar deal with Austin Reaves.
They then followed that up by agreeing to a four-year, one hundred and thirty million dollar deal with restricted free agent Walker Kessler.
But they had to give up two unprotected first-round picks and two second-round picks just to get Kessler, while paying him an average of thirty-two and a half million dollars a year over the next four years.
They also signed Sandro Mamukelashvili to a four-year, fifty-two million dollar deal, Quentin Grimes to a four-year, sixty million dollar deal, and Collin Sexton to a two-year, nineteen million dollar deal.
That means that in the last week, the Lakers have committed four hundred and forty-six million dollars to these five players, and it's fair to say the franchise still has significant holes in the roster.
To make matters worse, the Lakers let Marcus Smart walk to the Houston Rockets on a two-year, thirteen million dollar deal.
They let Luke Kennard walk to the Phoenix Suns on a two-year, thirteen million dollar deal, and they let Jaxson Hayes walk to the Utah Jazz on a two-year, twelve million dollar deal.
Three guys who played big roles for them last season.
