I can take any questions.
Yeah, good to get out here today, uh, back with the guys playing football, um, you know, we had our summer break and now it's time to get to work.
Um, good first practice, you know, guys had great energy, good spirit.
We're ready to go.
Um, I was in the locker room at probably starts at 7:30.
It was probably like 7:10, and like I'm the only guy in the locker room with like two other people, and I'm like, do I need to be somewhere, but it's just because everybody's so ready to go, ready to work, and, uh, that's the, that's the way you want it.
So, um, everybody's out in the field ready to go.
So take any questions you have.
What did you feel like the retention level was?
Uh, Clinton mentioned that you don't want to throw away what you've done in OTA as a mandatory minicamp when you get here.
Yeah, I, I think it's still early.
It's the first day, and I think the coaches, uh, you know, didn't try to overload us too much, so that retention level's got to continue in the days ahead.
But good first start, uh, guys, you know, handled snap counts and formations and motions and getting lined up and handle their assignment pretty well.
Clint, pretty definitively, Clint pretty definitively gave you the starter.
It's kind of what does it mean to you to have that opportunity and to have that confidence.
Yeah, I think in this league it's kind of one day at a time, so you're only as good as your last throw, your last practice, so.
Um, you know, you try to every day go out and earn that, earn that opportunity and, um, never take anything for granted.
Kurt, what positively surprises you about this team?
Maybe something coming in you thought differently but positively.
I, I just really like the character of the guys in the locker room.
Um, I think it's high quality guys, um, high quality people.
It would seem that our, our personnel staff has really emphasized the caliber of the person in the locker room, and that's the sense I get with the guys I. I'm with and and just how on the details they are, how much football matters to them, and the questions they ask, and, uh, that's been a, uh, real shot in the arm for me as an older player to kind of see a lot of young guys who, who are acting like, like that.
