Lightning Land Veteran Defenseman John Carlson in Free Agency
After a full day of free agency moves, the Lightning signed right-shot defenseman John Carlson to a two-year contract worth $8.5 million annually. The move addressed a need on the right side, following the trade of Darren Raddysh, which left the Lightning with just two right-shot defensemen in Erik Cernak and Max Crozier.

Devin, who do you think would be a, a good bargain at this point?
Not that anybody's ever a bargain in free agency, especially on, like, July 1st, but, you know, like relatively speaking.
I'm gonna go with Oliver Bjorkstrand.
Ooh, nice.
I think in, you know, he's a proven guy, 20 goals, 50 points range.
obviously on a pretty stacked Tampa team there.
So I think that, he's not gonna command a huge dollar value, but I think the return on him, can be very, very high.

I'm gonna go with Jack Roslovic, and he had to wait a while before the Edmonton Oilers signed him.
Ended up being a bargain signing for the Oilers last year.
Talking about a guy who now back-to-back 20 goal seasons.
Doesn't Kind of like a Cy Young, winner in terms of the goal to assist ratio.
Like, he's not gonna get you a ton of points overall, but, you know, how many 20 goal scorers are you gonna find in this free agent class?
Probably not a whole lot, and I feel like Roslovic still is very much, a guy that you can get pretty cheap.
