A Look At Potential Canucks General Manager Candidate Ray Whitney

Ray Whitney is another name to keep an eye on when it comes to the Vancouver Canucks' open GM position.

Which is so interesting, 'cause with all the GM talk now, during end of se- season media when Rutherford addressed everybody about, the search for the GM, who could be some potential names, the, one of the first names that he threw out there was Abbotsford Canucks General Manager Ryan Johnson, which is interesting in my opinion, just because if your goal is to take the team in a new direction, bringing up somebody that's still in the organization, I feel like that could be beneficial, but if you also want a new look at things, I don't know if that's what you wanna do.

Yeah, I guess.

I mean, honestly, any- anybody, I'm not, actually, I can't say anybody, most people would be better than Alvin.

Most people.

So a change is, is a good change in my books.

I mean, I understand where you're coming from, but I also think- Mm-hmm it might be good, because clearly he's good at his job.

I mean, he's doing pretty well for the Abbotsford Canucks.

Mm-hmm.

I mean, I don't under- I don't know why you wouldn't want to have that- Mm-hmm now for the bigger team.

But yeah, I don't know.

I guess- Honestly, I think where my issue is with that is if Rutherford stays on and Johnson becomes the GM, because then in that way, in my opinion, you're not really getting must of, much of a change.

Like, of course- Yeah we all know that, like, a lot of the moves that the Canucks made were kind of in tandem with Alvin and Rutherford's thinking, right?

If it kind of sticks in that direction where it's a Ryan Johnson, Jim Rutherford, like, combo pairing, I don't know if there's gonna be as much change as we think there would be
