Looking Back At One Of The Wildest Playoff Games In Senators History

Logan Stankoven enjoyed his day with the Stanley Cup on Sunday afternoon, sparking memories of the Senators' first round series back in April.

Jake Sanderson finishes number eight among NHL Network's top 20 defensemen in all of the NHL.

You know, there's part of me that's such a big fan of Jake Sanderson that goes, "Oh, only eight?"

But then I kind of take a look at the list and it's, well, it's a who's who of Norris Trophy candidates.

Cale Makar, Quinn Hughes, Zach Werenski, Rasmus Dahlin, Miro Heiskanen, Lane Hutson, Matthew Schaefer, and then comes Jake Sanderson.

So to be at number eight, immediately I was like, "Eh, I don't know about that."

Hell yeah.

There's no shame in number eight when the guys ahead of them, all seven are awesome.

Yep, and, and good on him.

And, and the nicest thing is that he's recognized.

Like we've, we've said this before, that we don't think he's recognized, as widely as he should be recognized.

But here's something, I mean, the NHL network, thinking that, that yeah, he's in the top eight.

I, I think he's a better defenseman than Lane Hutson.

I would take that any day of the week.

Regardless of what Lane Hut- Hutson does offensively, I think that Jake Sanderson's ahead of him.

I think the next step for Jake Sanderson now is another step up in point production, another step up in power play.

Let's start looking like a true quarterback on the power play and putting up the points on the power play.

And then the last thing is, well, let's see a higher finish in Norris Trophy voting this year.

I think the sky's the limit and the kid's going in the right direction, and who knows, maybe he's the next captain as well.

But all good news, all good future, all bright and rosy for Jake Sanderson from here on out.
