It's LSU, it's Clemson, Tiger on Tiger crime here.
Dabo Sweeney needing a big win to try and, steady the ship, but LSU probably need it more because LSU's aspirations are much bigger than that of Clemson.
Dabo can go here, hang around, and say, "Hey guys, don't worry, it's gonna be fine."
Lane Kiffin is expected to not just win at LSU, but win big, and winning your opening game as a double-digit favorite is th- the type of things that, you know, LSU faithful are expecting.
Of course, there is a lot of conversation around the NFL stuff.
We just got into that side of it here.
These guys are not going to play here, in the opener, so it's not changing the number too much.
A number that sits at 10, 10 and a half depending on where you look, and a total that is settling in, dropping a little bit, but I'm seeing 50 at a half anywhere across the landscape right now.
I think these are two very talented teams.
These are actually not one, but two teams, Dave, that I put into the college football playoff last week on our show, when we did a CFP prediction as to who the 12 teams would be.
Give me the, the number that stands out to you heading into this game the most.
The number that stands out to me i- is honestly the total.
I love the under 51 here.
You talked a couple of minutes ago about who this game probably means more to, and I, I think the pressure is on LSU.
And I said in the last segment, I wasn't sure whether they could get all the pieces together to win this game by 10 or more in terms of covering the game.
But they also have what is projected to be a great defense coming back to begin with, Lane or no Lane.
You know, SP+ has them as the number two rated defense.
And think what you want about Clemson and Dabo, they have a really good defense as well.
They have the 10th rated defense in the country, so that's really the number I'm looking at is two of the top 10 defenses projected this year in the country.
You got a lot of question marks on offense on both sides with the two quarterbacks being new to the systems with Clemson and LSU and Vinza, and, and, and whether they can get it together.
So I'm going with, hey, we don't know what we don't know with these two teams.
Is Dabo and Clemson back?
Is LSU gonna be able to put it on the field?
The NFL controversy with the players.
So to me, when I see a lot of question marks, the first thing I do is go to the under.
I think 51 is a lot of points out there, or 50 and a half, 51.
New pieces on both sides, two big defenses.
Last year, LSU had the worst SEC run defense in, in, in the conference.
They couldn't move the ball last year.
I expect it to be different.
But I'm plenty under 51.
I'm probably gonna get to Clemson plus 10 after you're done talking, because I know you're on that.
But I'm going with the under 51 and a half 'cause to me, there's too many question marks on both sides on offense.
You got two defenses.
That's a combination of, you know, maybe we're looking at a 24 to 20 type game that gets you way under without a sweat.
