What makes Jackson Koivun different than other can't miss prospects?
Golf Channel's Brentley Romine talks about interviewing Jackson Koivun at Auburn in March before the 2026 3M Open winner graduated college. Romine provides insights into why Koivun is different than his younger peers and what motivates him when playing.

First of all, I have to tell you, that feature you did was excellent.
As someone who's covered Jackson Kovin since he was in high school, what else needs to be said about him and, and that win on Sunday at the 3M?
Well, appreciate the kind words, Matt, and look, I've been asked the question a lot these past five or six months, like what makes Jackson Kovi- Kovin different than the other can't-miss prospects that have come along the way, like a Norman Xiong or a Gordon Sargent, Luke Clanton, you know, even going back to Jordan Spieth.
And, you know, I, I would say two things.
You know, one is the infatuation with the game, and, you know, h- it's hard to believe that some of these kids who come out, once they get on tour for a few months, like they don't love the game as much as they may have thought they did.
And you talked about that feature.
We spent about six hours at Auburn back in March, did a bunch of, you know, different interviews and things of that nature.
Jackson Kovin, once I left, he practiced some more.
That's how much he loves the game.
The second thing, obviously the putting.
It's kinda funny that he went 51 to 51 from inside five feet, 'cause that's exactly what his childhood coach Fred Garcia had him do when he was a kid.
He'd have to make 100 four-footers before he could go home and have dinner.
And, you know- Wow my pal Jim Colton from Driven Golf, came up with a stat too, 11 to 15 feet on the greens at 3M, Jackson gained almost six shots.
So pretty impressive stuff, and that's what makes Jackson Kovin's floor higher than a lot of these younger guys that we're seeing coming up, you know, out of college and onto the PGA Tour.
