Where does Artur Akhtyamov fit in on Toronto's roster next season?
Is he the backup?
Is he the 1B?
Do you want him as the starter?
Where do you see him?
Since he's waiver exempt, I think he's going to be the goaltender who goes up and down.
And we know Stolarz is going to get hurt.
So when Stolarz gets hurt, Akhtyamov will be called up.
you know, he had a very good showing in the American Hockey League, as you said.
I mean, Dennis Hildeby had to step in in game three against Rochester for them to win that series.
So you would have to say Hildeby is, was, you know, had a, had a role in, in them going forward.
but you know, I, I think he'll be in the picture.
I think, you know, obviously Easton Cowan did very well for the, for the Marlies.
And there are a number of young players who didn't get an opportunity at the end of the season with the Maple Leafs, like Villeneuve and Luke Haymes and Jacob Quillan, who might get a good look from Jim Hill or a training camp.
But Akhtyamov is somebody I think will get a look, but I don't know if they're going to say, we're going to give him one of the top two spots.
I think he's going to get spotted.
And if he plays well, then his role could be bigger with the Leafs.
