Sort of the function jump, coming off a couple of tough outings for him.
What'd you think of his rebound today?
I thought his, his start today was excellent.
You know, we've seen a few of these starts from Gage.
Again, you know, this is his first year of, of going out and, and, and pitching here in the big leagues, and I thought today was an example of, you know, obviously making some corrections, some adjustments, going out and attacking the zone.
You know, and I thought the best at-bat that he, you know, that he had today in terms of getting a guy out was the dry shaker bat with, you know, Murakami on deck and a runner in scoring position, two outs in the fifth.
He executed every pitch he needed to in every, every spot, which shows a lot of, a lot of growth, that's a big at-bat and, and for him to get through that one, I thought it was great.
I think he just kind of what he's shown you guys as he goes into the break, in his time in the big leagues up here and kind of since the time he's come up to now, just kind of what he's, what he's shown to you.
Yeah, I think, I think he's shown, you know, the ability to pitch here and be successful, which is a great sign for a young starter.
It doesn't always happen, you know, and for, for him to, obviously go into the break with this type of start, you know, I think there should be a lot of excitement about his second half.
Offensively you guys had some chances obviously with, Wilson at the playoff triple leaders.
What do you make of just kind of the, the day of?
Yeah, I mean, offensively, I just think guys are really just grinding.
I think guys are, you know, when we talk about just squeezing the dust out of the bat, it's not a, definitely not a lack of effort.
I think we're just trying really hard and, at some point guys just gotta take a deep breath and realize we got a long season left.
You know, I think today was that example.
You know, we had chances, you know, especially Colby's at-bat with, you know, getting to a 3-0 count and, you know, we just couldn't get a big hit right there to, to get back in the game.
So, we left our opportunities out there and, again, you know, offensively it's, it's been a challenge for us.
So just one game left before the break.
What's kind of the hope for tomorrow to come out?
Just go out and, and try to play free.
Try to just go out and, and, you know, play the game the way that these guys know how to play, relaxed and, and confident.
