Mets' $8 Million Two-Time All-Star Pitcher Highly Expected To Be Traded
The New York Mets have played better baseball as of late but are still way behind in the playoff picture, which will likely prompt it to deal its top pitcher at the trade deadline.

And again, back to the argument that the downside of the outfield can be really, really down.
And it seems to be we're getting there right now.
Obviously, Juan Soto is Juan Soto.
he's Dominican Jesus, so he's always gonna do what he does.
But outside of that, it's like, it's just Juan Soto and friends.
You know that, you know, you know that Key & Peele skit where it's like, um- Yeah LeBron James and the other guys?
It's, that's about it right now with Juan Soto and the Mets.

And we're the- And Carson Bench, obviously- And we're the other Cavaliers.
And so Carson Bench, obviously in his rookie season, he is 23.
So I mean, obviously, very few guys come into the league and dominate right away.
So obviously you take these numbers with a grain of salt.
But Carson Bench, the baseball reference page pulled up right now, the currently current numbers, a slash line of a buck 75, an on-base percentage of 235, and a slugging of 263.
So I would like to preface that by saying I'm still a Carson Bench believer.
We're just over a month into the season.
This is his first big league experience of any kind.
I mean, the guy is going to struggle.
And again, very few guys come into the league right away and dominate.
I do think Carson Bench will be just fine.
But that being said, Bob, I mean, you were kind of on it before Peter and I ever were, that in the nightmare scenario where this outfield doesn't go well, I mean, like, like you said, the highs could be really good and the lows could be really low.
And we are just kinda seeing the lowest of lows on that spectrum.
Obviously, Soto's missed a lot of time, and Carson Bench just hasn't really performed.
And so, I mean, I guess this is just kinda your premonition, like this is what the Mets season is gonna look like if everything goes wrong.
and not to put any air in your tires, but honestly, I mean, you've been pretty spot on.
Yeah, here and there, a blind squirrel will find a nut.
I think outside of the fact that they are at their low, I think the new question is going to become how long will they stick with this losing formula, and if there will be a time where it'll stop being a losing formula.
Obviously, because a winning formula, you stick with it.
But when you have Juan Soto carrying the team on his back, we have our center fielder hurt, and our rookie is not really panning out to a playable extent, how long are we gonna stick with it?
