The New York Mets have lots of tradeable assets that hold high value, but reports say the Mets are valuing their rental pitchers extremely high.

And again, they brought in Bo Bichette, brought in Freddy Peralta, brought in Marcus Semien, brought in Luis Robert Jr., brought in Jorge Polanco even.

I mean, I know he's not quite on the same level as those other four guys, but he was an off-season acquisition.

And Robert, Semien, and Jorge Polanco have all been hurt.

Freddy Peralta has just not been good.

Bo Bichette's been fine, but, you know, for the guy who's making, I think, the highest amount of year-to-year money, I mean, he's making $42 million a year, you can't be fine for $42 million a year.

So, I mean, I see it both ways, 'cause I mean, David Stearns is doing a, doing his job.

You know, I wouldn't say he's done it well, but he's done moves that in theory should make the team better.

And it's just hard 'cause obviously Stearns isn't on the field.

And, you know, honestly, when you can't really think of why the on-field product is so bad, I mean, it is just the easiest possible thing to blame the front office.

It really is.

I mean, it's, it's kinda just like a, you don't know where else to point your, your finger at.

So, I think it is just kind of like a, "Ah," you know?

It's like, damn, you don't know what's going on.

I, I think, I made a really goofy analogy a while back about how their spending habits before the season started was like when you don't take a shower, and rather than just taking a shower, you're just putting on more deodorant to cover up your smell.

Seems to me that's what's happening.

Like, it's starting to creep, it's starting to creep through that this is a really smelly person, because all of the money that we-- all these gobs sums of money we've spent are just not coming through at all.

Like, we are just in horrible shape.

Like, said person reeks.

The entire, the entire hall is evacuated.

They don't wanna be around this person.

Likewise, they're fifth in the NL East.

I mean, dude, we're in bad shape.

This is not a good team.

I, I don't know what else to say, other than we re- you just need to take a refresh.

I mean, it's not the front office, I think it's just the players.

Might be the culture.

I don't know what it is.

It's just they're not gelling the way they were.
