Mets Head to Cleveland To Start Series With Depleted Bullpen

The New York Mets were very active at the deadline, so they'll be operating with a skeleton bullpen crew.

Yeah.

A loss for words for me and I think for Mets fans alike.

It, it's just strange, you know?

Teams run into the problem where it's like we have guys and they're not playing well, so it's strange.

There's been calls about the validity of, Carlos Mendoza.

I think he should be gone, but we'll get into that later I presume.

But at the same time it's like the manager and the staff can't be out there.

You know, they're not the ones holding the bats and throwing the balls.

So at the end of the day it really boils down to the players.

No, absolutely.

And I mean, a little bit of good news for the Mets, they did take two of three from the Angels this weekend.

Again, we're recording this Sunday, May 3rd.

So the Mets did win earlier today.

They beat the Angels five to one, two home runs and four RBIs for Mark Vientos.

I mean, the Mets saw one go through the net, but I mean, you kinda put it in the bigger picture.

I mean, again, they did take two of three from the Angels.

But after a seven and four start, which was pretty good to open the year for the Mets, they are four and 16 in their last 20 games.

Obviously we all know about the losing streak that ended up wrapping up at 12 games.

I believe when we last recorded a Mets episode that number was at seven.

But during that 12 game losing streak they were swept by the Dodgers, the Cubs, and the Rockies.

And I mean, you just-- again, despite winning two of three this weekend, that's a good sign.

Maybe things are trending up.

But again, you just have to look back at, you know, the last three or four weeks for the Mets and just realize, you know, to put it bluntly, you just gotta realize how bad things have been
