Jonah Tong's return to the big leagues was certainly eventful. After striking out the first four batters, he allowed four runs, squandering a 3-0 Mets lead. But the offense answered right back, unleashing a 16-hit attack, led by A.J. Ewing's three-hit, three-RBI game in a 9-4 win over the Marlins. Tong settled down, grinding through five innings to get the win, striking out seven in the process.

On the mound for the Mets, Jonah Tang, who made three relief appearances for the Mets early in the season, but his first start of the year.
You know, Gary, the best part, really, of this last part of the season has been the young pitchers.
So to add Jonah Tang to that mix, I can't wait to watch him today.
A little bit different kind of pitch selection and repertoire, but still that great fastball.
And that's punched to the right side.
Sanoja throws it away.
Into left field.

He turns, he's gonna be able to score as it's finally tracked down by Hernandez, and the Mets, three batters into the game, have a one-nothing lead.

Tang strikes him out with a fastball.
So Jonah gets his first out with a K. He's ahead on Hernandez one and two.

So Tang with back-to-back strikeouts to start his outing.

Marcy digging for third.

Ewing having trouble picking it up.
Sanoja going to third.
The throw by Lindor gets away.
Backed up by Tang, and the Marlins are on the board.
It's now three to one.
Again, the one-two.
And that's driven to deep right field.
That goes Benge onto the warning track, jumping, and it's outta here.
Graham Pauley with a three-run homer to put the Marlins in front.
The infield comes all the way in.
And Alvarez hits one toward the middle.
That's a base hit.
And that ties up the game.
So because the infield was in, not only does the run come home, but Alvarez gets on base.
He shoots one into right field for a base hit, and the Mets regain the lead.
Bichette goes the other way for his 72nd RBI, and the Mets go in front five to four.
One-two coming.
There goes Benge, and Ewing carves one foul.
Ooh, it's fair.
It stayed along the line.
Soto's into score, Benge right behind him.
A slicing double for A.J.
Ewing to drive in a pair, and it's seven to four New York.
Sanoja gets set to run.
Three-two, and Pauley goes down swinging.
Good changeup by Tang for his sixth strikeout of the day.

And that retires the side.
