Mikaela Mayer targets Claressa Shields in what could be her final six fights

Contract that you'll sign in your career.
I, I feel like you're still a youngster.
You, you I know, I know you've had a long amateur career, and you've been around the block now.
I remember when you signed with Top Rank many moons ago, and you were in our studio.
Yeah.
How many fights did you sign for?
I signed a six-fight deal with MVP.
Okay, so- So that'll be over the course of three years.
And you think after that you'll be done?
Yeah.
If I get the fights that I want, yeah.
If I get the fights that I want, I think six fights is plenty.
It's a long time.
Every camp right now is A- again, I, I hear what you're saying 'cause I feel like I'm fighting better than ever.
I really do.
I've, like, jumped up a level, a few several levels over the last couple of years, especially, like, moving up in weight and not cutting anymore and just bringing Kofi Jantuah onto my team.
So I do feel like I'm fighting better than ever, but I don't think I want more than six fights.
Again, if I can get the, the fi- the big fights that I really want, I think that'll be plenty for me.
I think I'll be ready, but you never know.
After Cameron, can you rank the top three for us?
When you say big fights, what are those big fights?
Well, Cameron, definitely one of them.
I want to finish what I started at 147 and go undisputed.
You know, we're one fight away from undisputed against Lauren Price there.
I just can't seem to get the fricking fight with her, so I would love for the stars to align somehow for that, so I can, go back down to 47 and become undisputed.
And then ideally, Claressa Shields would be next.
Chantelle Cameron, Lauren Price, Claressa Shields.
That would make for an incredible year.
I would have no complaints.
Have you mentioned, I've seen you and Claressa talk about each other, it seems rather respectful.
She just won a couple weeks ago, looked good again, sold out in Atlanta.
She has a beef, if we wanna call it that, with MVP.
Have you talked to MVP about trying to sign or at least trying to make this fight happen?
It seems like just Claressa and Sebastian, excuse me, Gabriel Fendora, are the only two women out there that they haven't signed yet, and I know they've talked to Claressa in the past.
Yeah.
How serious have your talks been with them about making this happen?
Oh, they're fully on board with it.
They're not gonna come in between a fight with me and Claressa Shields if that, if it does end up happening.
I know that there's, it's still early in talks, but, I mean, our teams have spoken several times, and so, I've mentioned wanting the fight.
Claressa, I was one of the names she called out after her last win, so it's good to know that she still wants the fight, and I can guarantee MVP won't stand in the way of that.
What weight, and here's, you giving her props after the win, what weight would you be most comfortable with fighting her at?
154.
But she made it pretty clear that she's not coming down past 160.
Yeah.
I think she could.
I do think she could.
I think she looked great cutting down to 160, and then I think there's probably still a little room to go some more.
But, you know, that's a call she has to make.
I don't really, I can't tell her to do that.
She has to wanna do that.
So, if I want that fight, I'm gonna have to meet her at 160, and I, I'm prepared to do that.
