Missouri Freshman Offensive Lineman DJ Jones Placed on Heart Transplant List

Missouri freshman offensive lineman DJ Jones, 18, is hospitalized at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida, and has been placed on a heart transplant list, coach Eli Drinkwitz said Tuesday. The program found a heart issue during its standard freshman intake this summer and monitored Jones for two weeks before seeking another opinion. Mayo Clinic doctors then found what Drinkwitz called a much more significant issue. An emotional Drinkwitz asked fans to pray for Jones, one of the top-ranked members of Missouri's 2026 class, who watched Saturday's 45-17 win over Florida from the hospital.
