MLB trade deadline winners, losers: Dodgers shine
CC Sabathia "can't blame" the Dodgers for leveraging their farm system to pull off blockbusters. That's why he thinks the Brewers and Yankees were among the most underwhelming teams at the trade deadline.

Who do you feel are the biggest losers in trade deadline, winners of the trade deadline?
Who are your winners and losers?

I think the biggest winner for me, obviously, is the Dodgers.
You know- Yeah they're gonna be number one on the power rankings.
You can just, we can put that, we can lock that in for the rest of the, the podcast, for the rest of the season.
We already did.
Um- You did it day one.
You said, "Ah, lock it in- and not even worry."
And I think because of, you know, them getting the Scuble, making that trade, I think, you know, I'm putting Milwaukee in the biggest losers category, just for not making that trade, and letting him go to LA.
And I think, you know, my Yankees, man.
You know, obviously everybody knew that they, you know, wanted to make a, a deal for a catcher- Mm-hmm and, you know, couldn't get that done.
I mean, that was a huge need that they've been talking about, you know, for so long and, you know, wasn't able to get a deal done.
So, you know, I'm gonna put those as my losers.
In, in our lifetime, CC, there have been some stacked teams.
Those Yankees teams were stacked back in the day, but I mean, this Dodgers team.
Like, we joke about them having a B team that can make a run in the playoffs.
Have you ever seen a team assemble as much talent as we have seen this year with the Los Angeles Dodgers?
Yeah, I mean, but you, you said it, right?
Those late, those late '90s, Yankees teams- Yeah had a lot of talent.
I feel like the team that I was on in '09 had a lot of talent.
But when you have talent like the Dodgers have and like those teams had that we just named, and you still play hard and you, you know, run the bases the right way, and you hold each other accountable and, you know, you're doing the right things around the clubhouse, it makes you unbeatable.
Like, the culture that the, the Dodgers have created, not only with the talent that they have, but throughout their minor leagues, their, they have the best farm system.
They, you know, they treat they players right.
Everybody's over there happy, they're doing the right things, they're playing the game hard.
You know, that, that makes them, you know, virtually unbeatable.
Yeah.
And now you're about to see them go and, and win another one in three, I think.
Are, are they- Three in a row.
Yeah.
Are they so unbeatable now that it's bad for baseball?
Because you got a lot of chatter out there, it's like, "Oh, the Dodgers got another one.
Baseball's broken right now."
Obviously you got the CBA talk coming up here.
Are they so good- Yeah that it's bad for baseball?
But, but I think that, like, their, their farm, this is their farm system, right?
Like, you can't blame them or fault them for having a good farm system- Yeah whoever they draft, and being able to develop players that other organizations want.
So, you know what I'm saying?
Like, we can say everything we wanna say about, you know, them paying players or whatever and all that, but in this situation that we're talking about right now, we're talking about their farm system and what they've created as a culture and what they've been able to do, you know, as an organization.
I mean, you can't, you can't blame or fault them for that.
I mean, that's why, that's why they're hard to beat, right?
They have more money it seems like than any other team out there right now, and th- they smart, they're smart, and they evaluate, and they, and they develop these players better than most teams out there, maybe all the teams out there.
And, like, I do think this, like, I do think sports are better when you have, like, that super villain team, the team that's out there that's got a dynasty, and this is certainly a dynasty.
Has a chance to be one of the greatest that we have seen in the sport.
Like, just my opinion, CC, I do think it makes baseball more interesting when you have a team like this.
Yeah, I mean, I think everybody's like, the, the Dodgers are in the headline every day, right?
Like, everybody's paying attention to this.
I mean, I seen even Stephen A. Smith talking about baseball.
He, he don't even cover baseball.
He was talking about baseball the other day.
Yeah.
So it's like, so it's, it's great to see, you know, baseball kind of dominating the headlines, whether it's the Dodgers or not.
Yeah.
And, and my Detroit Tigers, we made a run for it this year.
I got a jersey out of it.
A good friend, Gary Quinn, it's now a vintage jersey.

They're still gonna make a run.
