The Washington Nationals suffered their first loss in spring training on Wednesday night after falling seven-nothing to the New York Yankees.
I'm Amit Kfir, covering the Washington Nationals for Roundtable IO, and the Nationals were held to just one hit in Wednesday's loss, while committing three errors, in what proved to be costly in the Nationals' loss.
meanwhile, the one hit proved to be deflating after, the bats were able to catch fire, in recent days to lift the Nationals to late inning victories.
as for the Yankees, they wasted no time getting on board, with Andrew Alvarez on the mound and Oman Rosario opening up the Yankees lineup, with a three hundred and sixty-four foot home run, to open up the scoring in the bottom of the first, with a one-nothing deficit.
meanwhile, the Yankees continued that into the second inning, after getting a runner on first on an infield single.
then an error came from Andrew Alvarez after his throw sailed over the head of, of, first baseman Abby Malik Ortiz, to get runners on the corners with no outs.
the next at bat, pitch got away from keeper Ruiz to bring in a second runner with ease, though a, six-four-three double play, would end the inning and take a two-nothing deficit into the third.
meanwhile, the Yankees were able to add on to that with a three running-- a three-run fifth inning, highlighted by a fielding error from Dylan Cruise, which led to a pair of runs, taking a five-nothing deficit into the fifth inning.
meanwhile, that, that deficit grew to, seven-nothing in the fifth inning, after Clayton Beater gave up a double to bring in a pair of runs in a game that was all but decided.
as for the Nationals, you got a chance to see several, pitchers in actions as Andrew Alvarez did exactly what every pitcher, starting pitcher has done so far in spring training.
Pitched only two innings, where he posted, three hits allowed, two runs, and including one earned, along with three strikeouts, two two walks.
meanwhile, Richard Lovelady came in and he, he threw for one strikeout in his lone, appearance, in his lone inning, in his appearance, as the Nationals saw seven different pitchers in Wednesday's loss.
