A year after near miss as an am, Woad leads Amundi Evian
Lottie Woad nearly won the 2025 Amundi Evian Championship during her final start as an amateur. Now a two-time professional winner, Woad is 36 holes from becoming a major champ. She spoke with the media.

Lottie, in the lead after a stellar 64, you really caught fire on the back nine.
What clicked out there for you?
Yeah, I think I just kept on giving myself chances.
I mean, at the start I hit a lot of good approaches, on one and two, and d- and didn't make them, and then on the back nine seemed to make most things.
So I think it was just trying to stay patient, really.
Yeah.
Well, it's easy to do at a place where you've played so well in years gone by.
How much have you changed or your game's changed in the, in the past 12 months?
Do you feel like, you know, you've evolved on both fronts?
Yeah, I think a little bit.
I think I've just got slightly better in all areas.
Not- nothing too different, but just, yeah, a little bit better, and I think just mentally been in these positions a bit more, so I think I'm a little calmer under pressure.
Give us a little insight into the mind frame.
Are you a leaderboard watcher?
You're out in front at the moment.
Will you be looking at them on the weekend?
Yeah, I do look at them.
There isn't that many out there, but whenever I saw one I, I looked, and I saw I needed to kind of get it going on the back nine and, that kind of helps me know what I need to do.
Certainly makes for nice reading right now.
