I think what I would challenge the Houston Texans defense to be better at this year is limit those explosive plays.
Mm-hmm.
And let's take a look at what they did this off season, right?
Reed Blankenship, Caelen Bullock.
Now, last year you had CJ Gardner-Johnson back there, EJ Stewart back there.
Am I missing this?
They had a couple of safeties and players on the- Yeah.
Well, down the stretch we had guys off the street that, I forget his name, I think it was Kavon Merriweather maybe.
W- Whoever it was that we had that just- Yeah, 'cause he's still on the roster, yep.
Yeah, it, w- like he balled out in that game.
I'm, I'm, I may be, you know, misremembering who it was, but in that Chargers game we thought we found someone off the practice squad, but it turns out that they were, ended up busting coverages as well, so.
Yeah, they kinda had, like a revolving door.
Jalen Reid obviously, but he had injuries and he was still a rookie.
Right.
So, yeah.
L- like, now you look at the back half of that defense, the, the, the guys that are gonna save those explosive plays, just been in a much better space, right?
Continuity is, is, is important and, and this is why I think Caelen Bullock should've been, an All Pro last year.
I mean, what he dealt with alongside of him and still got five interceptions and still improved, you know, greatly in his roo- his sophomore year.
I, I thought he was one of the better safeties in the NFL bar none.
So I'm looking at the Houston Texans this year potentially being better because now, listen, you can l- limit those explosive plays, and some of those explosive plays came on third and long situations.
Mm-hmm.
Right?
You also can be a better red zone defense, which if there is any knock on that Texas defense last year, teams were, when they got in the red zone, teams were able to score at a high rate.
So now you're looking at cutting those numbers down because of the addition of a Reed Blankenship.
Also Kamoy Ramsey is a guy that I'm r- extremely interested in.
And I, and I think the Texans, as long as his legal situation, you know, works out, I think the Texans absolutely need to keep tabs on Tyron Arnold.
Yeah.
So I, I, I think this defense is gonna be a lot better.
And then Caden McDonald, listen man.
Mm-hmm.
I Yeah.
You see his workout video?
I, I did.
Oh my God.
You know what I wanna do one day, man?
This is an idea of mine, and I hope it reaches the right ears of people.
And I'll sign a waiver, but I would love to do an interview with these players while working out on their workout.
That's a great idea.
'Cause I love working out.
To show how hard it is.
I love working out.
I love the, the sweat and the grind of working out.
Okay.
But as you work out, them words, they start to disappear- a little bit, man
