NFL Medical Chief Defends Eagles' Handling of Jalen Hurts Blood Clot as NFLPA Seeks Probe
NFL chief medical officer Dr. Allen Sills is backing the Philadelphia Eagles' medical staff, who cleared Jalen Hurts to play every snap in London on October 11 after diagnosing a superficial blood clot. Sills pointed to careful monitoring and imaging and rejected claims that team officials pushed doctors to let Hurts play. The Players Union wants a full investigation. A follow-up ultrasound on October 14 showed the clot had moved, and more testing found clots in both lungs. Hurts is clinically stable and expected to recover fully, but he is expected to miss the rest of the season.
