NHL 27 Player Ratings: Tom Wilson Moves Up & Cracks Top 90, Ovechkin's Rating Shifts Down
With NHL 27 coming out next month, Electronic Arts released a handful of player ratings for the video game on Tuesday, with some changes coming to the Washington Capitals.

Yeah, I think if he gets close, that's I, I think a lot's gonna depend on this year and, and both in the way of, of how many goals does he score, how, like how close does he get to that number?
If he gets 35 this year, of course.
But when we're watching how many goals he scores this year, also, also watching the decline of his game, 'cause he's, he's superhuman.
He's not like the rest of us, obviously, but at some point, Father Time always wins.
And, and, and so at what rate, right?
Because you, you think, I talked about it last year going into the end of the year, if he does play another year is what, you know, if it does, if it does start to decline, and you hope it doesn't.
I, I hate, I hate saying goodbye to these guys, Ovi, Sid, you know, these guys are, were who I was coming up with as well.
But if it starts to decline, like how, how is that as a coach in a team, how do you navigate that?
Like, is Ovi good with that, talking to him, "Hey, you know, you're still obviously posted up on the power play," but maybe sl- like, the minutes start to go down in the situational play.
Is he okay with that?
'Cause if he's not, that's a weird situation for, for Carver and, and like, it's, it's tough.
It's So the conversations need to be had there.
So if he, if he gets any amount of goals in the 30s, and his, you know, his speed and his game look, still look pretty good, I think he comes back for sure.
And, you know, if he gets there and the decline is very noticeable, and you're kind of unable to, to play him in, in situations, you know, he's not the guy that you necessarily put out when you need one because he's slowing down.
I'm not saying that's the case, but if that starts to become the case, then, you know, the question is, is whether or not he comes back for it.
'Cause 71 goals in two years is, is still a lot, but we are- Yeah talking about the greatest goal scor- scorer of all time.

Yeah, Dev, Devin, I agree with you.
You know, 71 away, so I would say he has to get 35 or more for him- Yeah to look at it going, "All right, you know, it's within reach.
I'm one year away from it."
but if he gets under 30, th- then he's gotta look at like, "All right, I gotta come back for two, maybe three more years just to get there."
So yeah, I, I, I think you kinda nailed it.
It's kind of like 71 goals.
How do you s- how do you plan that out over two seasons?
Like, obviously 40 goals this year would make the following year a lot more, a lot easier, but yeah, to get less than 30 goals and expect him to come back and then, you know, make up the difference, I don't think that's possible.
