NHL Coach Rankings: 20 To 16 Features Several Coaches On The Hot Seat

The NHL's coaching business is a cutthroat line of work. But this summer, we're ranking all 32 NHL coaches. Today, we're looking at the middle of the pack, with rankings 20-through-16. Where does your team's coach rank?

I think for me, I think Sheldon Keefe's gonna go up.

I think that everything that kinda happened in New Jersey this year was kinda like Boston two years ago, where everything that went wrong seemed to go wrong for them, and I think that they have a better roster than they probably showed this year.

So I see them bouncing back and them taking a step forward.

I think that depends on whether they have somebody better than Nico Dawes in goal.

But, I'll, I'll say the big down, and I'm an expert on, you know, things going down, is Todd McLellan of the Detroit Red Wings, because they're a big cluster.

They're, they're, they're a disaster right now.

You've got a team captain who wants out.

They fired their general manager.

They don't know who their GM is gonna be, and, they, you know, their additions to their roster, you know, that was Victor Arvidsson was their big move.

So I don't think they're very good right now, and the organization is in chaos.

So I think that contributes to them having a down season.

Yeah, I like Todd McLellan.

You know- Yeah he's always a great guy to chat with, but I think of the names that are in this group, guys, Todd McLellan's probably on the hottest seat out of anyone.

Especially now that we know a new GM's coming to town.

You know, what does a new GM do?

They usually like to make a coaching change.

So I think if we're looking at a possible, you know, who might get the ax before the season's done, you know, I think Todd McLellan's probably You know, he's, he's wearing a bullseye right now
