After years at the bottom of the standings prior to relocation, the Utah Mammoth have built an intriguing pipeline of prospects that could help accelerate their competitive timeline. Tony Ferrari takes a deep dive into the franchise's next wave of NHL talent.

The Utah Mammoth have one of the most interesting prospect pools in the entire NHL.
They have a very specific type.
Up front, they like to go for massive players who have some skill and bring some ferocity to the game, blending that skill and power element that they love so much.
On the back end, they love going for big guys yet again, but they don't necessarily always lean towards the most skilled player.
They go towards guys that have a good defensive game and build out from that point forward.
If they have some skill as well, it's a great advantage.
This year's NHL draft, at least at the top end, they went right for that archetype by drafting Ethan Belchits.
He's a big guy.
He has a ton of skill.
He's one of the most fascinating players in the draft because when he's on his game and when he's playing a really high skill game, at six foot five, he's hard to stop.
He can be a guy that scores in bunches and absolutely beats up on other teams.
But his skating needs to come a little bit, and if that happens, he can be a really solid NHL player at the next level.
Now, they have a ton of prospects throughout their system that are really good.
Danil Boot and Dmitry Samochev were drafted a couple of years ago, and they're both gonna be pushing for NHL time this year.
Boot is a guy that absolutely has a ton of dexterity, a ton of skill.
His puck handling's fantastic, and he's a great playmaker and shooter.
Dmitry Samochev is a blue liner who has some of that mean edge to his game and plays a really smart, sound defensive game with excellent puck movability and transition.
Now, they've got a really good young prospect pool coming that will complement the young core that's already there.
Logan Cooley's on the precipice of becoming one of the better centers in the NHL, and Dylan Guenther is so close to being one of the most feared goal scorers in the league.
It's gonna be really interesting to see how the Utah Mammoth blend together the skill and power element that they're very clearly going for.
This is a really fun roster, and they're gonna be really fun to watch as they develop over the next few years and become a true NHL contender because we've all been kind of watching them sit, sitting right on the edge of that status.
