NHL Rumor Roundup: Updates On Jason Robertson, Dylan Larkin, Morgan Rielly And More

Tuesday saw a frenzy of activity in the NHL trade market, with defenseman Bowen Byram being traded by the Buffalo Sabres to the Chicago Blackhawks, the St. Louis Blues sending winger Jordan Kyrou to the Washington Capitals, the New Jersey Devils shipping blue liner Simon Nemec to the Calgary Flames, and the Ottawa Senators acquiring winger William Eklund from the San Jose Sharks.
So in today's NHL Rumor Roundup column, I'm taking a look at several names that are currently making the rounds in the rumor mill as we get ever closer to the start of the NHL draft on Friday.
And one of those names is Jason Robertson of the Dallas Stars.
Now, the 26-year-old winger is a restricted free agent with arbitration rights on July 1st, and he's also a year away from unrestricted free agent eligibility.
According to TSN's Darren Dreger, the Stars are preparing to make their best and perhaps final offer to the Robertson camp.
And that is, of course, generating speculation that perhaps Robertson could be part of a sign and trade scenario, or if that doesn't work out, that he could become the target for an offer sheet.
Another player whose name has been bouncing around the rumor mill quite a bit is Morgan Reilly of the Toronto Maple Leafs.
And Dreger also reported that Reilly has submitted a four-team list of preferred trade destinations to the Maple Leafs, all of them in the Western Conference.
And it's unknown right now which teams they could be, though that will probably leak out over the next couple of days.
But two teams that could use some experienced blue line depth and might have the salary cap flexibility to take him on include the Anaheim Ducks and the San Jose Sharks.
