Hey, everybody.

This is Brendan Howe of Steelers Now.

Just got done covering the fourth training camp practice here at St. Vincent College in Latrobe.

Obviously sunny day, beautiful day, and the pads are on, so made for a pretty good practice, made for a fun practice to watch.

Unlike last Friday, like I said, a little lacking energy.

Today was not.

To kind start out on the energy aspect of things, Nick Herbig, outside linebacker, got paid this off-season.

He's kind of a spark plug on the field.

Spark plug on the field in a variety of ways, actually.

In the way that, one specific play today, Travis Homer gets a handoff, and Nick Herbig is right there to greet him.

He wraps him, picks him up, puts him down forcefully, and makes a beeline.

Like, I'm talking like, walks straight over to the first team offensive line, points at them and starts talking.

Mason McCormack gives it back.

Got to talk to Mason afterwards and he said, obviously it's not a contentious thing.

Like, they like to go back and forth with each other.

Offensive tackle, Troy Fatunu, who goes up against Nick Herbig a good bit, he talks and he says, "If Nick isn't talking to the offensive players in that manner, there's probably something wrong with him."

So, everything was pretty right with him today, which is cool to see.

Also focused a good bit on those offensive linemen.

I got to watch a bit of a drill early on in practice, where it's a little bit of hitting to start out with.

Dylan Cook pulls Max Yonaschor, rookie first round offensive tackle aside, and he's giving him some pointers.

Maybe do this, do this.

Couldn't really hear what he was saying, but he's, he's pulling on him a little bit.

Cool to see, Dylan Cook, a guy who got his chance late last season after Broderick got hurt, after there's this kind of like laundry list of tackles who get hurt.

He steps in, he does his thing, and he's here to help Max.

And looks like he has a starting job, has it right now.

He's been lining up with the ones there, at right tackle, while Troy Fatunu has moved over to the left.

Along with that, Broderick Jones, who, like I mentioned, got hurt last year in Chicago, he's out there today with pads on, hitting.

It was a bit of a, a road back for him.

He said last week when we got to talk to him that there was some doubt that he'd ever play football again.

There was some He, he'd never had a serious energy li- injury like that, and he gets back out there.

He looked pretty good today.

So, good for Broderick Jones.

Troy Fatunu said last year, whenever Broderick Jones wasn't in the room, wasn't on the field, something was missing a little bit.

So, they're happy to have him back.

Which leads me into the, probably the most entertaining part of practice, as it has been this entire training camp, is those two-minute drills.

So early on, or, or the first two-minute drill, Aaron Rodgers gets his chance.

He starts to drive the ball downfield and eventually kind of stalls out.

He throws an interception to Patrick Queen ending on a third and goal.

And before that, there were two instances in which he went to Roman Wilson, the first of which was an acrobatic, like, Roman jumps up in the back of the end zone, spins, catches the ball, couldn't get his feet down.

You can tell after Roman goes to sideline after the Patrick Queen interception, sits back on his heels and you could tell he was upset with himself that he wasn't able to get his feet down.

Broderick Jones or Darnell Washington, it's easy to get those two mixed up, right?

Darnell Washington pats him, says, "Get up."

Not that Roman looked super dejected, but you could tell that he wasn't happy that he wasn't able to make the play, which I feel like the crowd would've erupted with the, the type of catch that that was.

There was, and if you wanna talk about the, the crowd pop and that sort of thing, early on, a very funny thing is Aaron Rodgers, Drew Aller, Will Howard, they are all trying to throw the ball into the net that I've talked about.

Aaron hits it in and the crowd goes crazy.

Will hits it in, the crowd goes crazy, and Will turns to the crowd and he starts, like, pumping them up.

Drew, you've seen some misfires this training camp.

He overthrows one.

Everybody kind of groans a little bit.

Everybody wants to see Drew Aller do well.

Everybody wants to see that project quarterback, third rounder, obviously has the physical tools, go out there and kind of make a name for himself.

He had a really good rollout throw that I saw at one point during one of the seven-on-sevens.

The second two-minute drill, Will Howard goes out there, and it was, it was a little clunky.

He wasn't able to get much going.

Eventually, the, the clock runs out on him, or the, the practice clock runs out on him with just a few plays to go.

I think there were two more plays.

Practice ends, you hear the horns and the whistles.

And anyways, with that, today's practice was great.

I'm looking forward to Saturday's practice.

Looking forward to every practice this week 'cause there's one tomorrow that I'm excited to, to see what they could do, especially with the pads on.

We are at the fun part of football, being that they're finally hitting.

This isn't kind of seven-on-seven, non-touch, non-contact anymore.

So, for Steelers Now, I am Brendan Howe.

It has been great talking to you guys, and I'll talk to you tomorrow
