Dougie Hamilton from New Jersey, should they start maybe thinking, "Is there a market for Oliver Ekman-Larsson or Bobby McMann?"
Or maybe even start wondering if Morgan Rielly would be interested in getting moved?
Like, what do you sense heading into the deadline with the Leafs?
I think I like what you said.
I mean, eight points doesn't seem like a lot.
Now, I think the nice thing for the Leafs is I think they have 10 or 11 games left before the trade deadline.
So I don't think it's safe to make that call right now, and you kinda- maybe you have an all-team meeting, and you kinda say, "I mean, it's a 10-game sprint here, and that's gonna determine, kind of the direction that we go as an organization."
And I mean, you guys know the market better than anyone.
It's not really an organization that is used to completely selling and going for the first overall pick.
But, I mean, at the end of the day, if you look at their roster from top to bottom, it's just not good enough to compete with a lot of these other teams, and not even close.
So, I definitely don't think, even if they make the playoffs this year, ...
I think if some of their good players, I mean, Auston Matthews can get hot enough where maybe they could win a round.
But, I mean, at that point, I don't see it, even in the best case scenario, going much further than that.
So, I definitely think they're in a tough spot, and I think that depending on how the next 10, 11 games go, that's how I would kinda determine the direction there.
