They have to prove that they're worth investing in and going and adding a- an impact player.
You can't sell.
You just can't sell when the team is on this winning streak.
So how I feel about them is irrelevant, and, and how Craig Breslow feels about them, long-term, big picture, that's irrelevant, too.
I don't know, we were talking about his job over there.
He's gonna be He's a, he's a dead man walking.
He's gonna be fired.
Maybe that's turned around, too, Keith, that, that, Craig Breslow is gonna be around for another two or three more years.
If you are the, the president of baseball operations and your team's on a, on a nine-game winning streak and you're a half game out of the playoff, out, out of a playoff spot, you can't go out there, go out there and say, "Oh, yeah.
Well, let's get some value for Roaldos Chapman.
Let's get some value for Sonny Gray," even though that would be the smart thing to do, but you can't do it.
It's, it's, it's not gonna, it's not gonna fly in the clubhouse.
Now I think everybody within the Red Sox would say, "Yeah, we're a half game out," and I know there's a lot of games until the deadline, but I don't see teams like the Twins or the Astros or the Blue Jays really pulling away.
So as long as the Sox don't tank, they could play 500 baseball on this 10-game home stand coming up.
Yeah, I- And I think they would still be a game out of the wild card.
I will believe, and I will come on here and say they're real if on this home stand, oh, here we go.
This, I'm gonna raise the stakes here.
If they win more than they lose at home.
So you need six and four.
I mean, come on.
That gets them- Oh, yeah.
By the way, that gets them right to 500.
I mean, think about their record.
Their record at Fenway Park is embarrassing.
I know what they did to the Yankees.
Yeah, you know, sweep the Yankees.
That's great.
If this is a team that can play to Fenway Park, which they haven't done all year, did last year and didn't do the year before, they can play, they can play to their strengths at Fenway, yeah, they could be a legitimate playoff team.
