Nolan, what were you able to find, especially in the, the fourth and fifth there today?

yeah, I mean, started using a little bit more cutters and change-ups.

obviously didn't have much feel early in the game of the sinkers, but it started to come back to me, later in the game.

Mixing some fours and some twos and was able to get some, some quick outs late there in the game.

I know that change-up's a pitch that you've been looking to get more consistent.

Did that feel pretty good for the most part today?

Yeah.

I mean, I was, I was happy with how it felt, especially in the cold weather.

I haven't thrown it in the cold in a while, so I was, really satisfied with how that played today.

That lack of feel early, was that something you felt in the bullpen or not until you got in the game?

No, yeah.

I mean, not till I got into the game.

throwing into a headwind's sometimes a little tricky, especially when my stuff's moving a little more dramatically than it normally does.

so I was just trying to find where I need to start my pitches, and was a little bit later than I wanted to be in that.

but once I found it, it felt good.

Is it requiring more mental energy than your defense has normally required when you're more familiar with the position in past years?

At times, maybe, but I mean, I think that you should spend a lot of mental energy on defense either way.

Did the boos catch you off guard at all, or kind of come to the territory at this point?

No.

If anything, I thought it took too long.

but I mean, I get it.

I thought my at-bats were terrible too, so.

Were you ever booed in Toronto?

By, you know, random fans here and there.

Yeah.

Well, that feeling of wanting to have a moment, when did that start for you?

When did you start to want that feeling?

From the day I signed.

I just Yeah, I mean, I just, I guess I didn't anticipate it affecting the way I would play, so, Yeah, but like I said, I'll figure it out and get back in the moment.

Francisco, just first of all, physically, how are you feeling after taking that shot?

I feel good.

as good as I'm gonna be.

yeah, the guy hit hard.

You're obviously, you know, digging around third.

You're not paying attention to what's going on in the outfield.

Were you surprised, given where that ball landed, when it was a play at the plate like that?

Meaning surprised, meaning, like, if- Like, did you think- it was that gonna be that close?

Yeah.

Did you think it was gonna be that close as you're rounding third?

I mean, I don't know who threw the ball, but they, they executed their, the, the relays, you know?

And they have good arms in the outfield and good arms in the infield as well.

yeah, I mean, I was, I was expecting it was gonna be close, for sure.

I know you don't have eyes on the ball when you're running, but given that there were no outs, were you surprised by the send?

No.

Not at all.

we have talked about being aggressive.

I felt like as soon as the ball was hit, I felt like I was gonna-- my mindset was going to score.

And yeah, I think I would've scor-score.

I took a little bad of a route, but, I'm on board with Leap sending the, sending, sending me there because we have talked about being aggressive, and he, he made the right call.

Sean, overall, how'd you feel about your outing today?

It was good.

you know, I got the, got the job done.

you know, still got some work, things to work on, but, you know, overall felt really good.

I know there's obviously been a lot of talk about the velocity, and you expected that the adrenaline would get it up.

Is it concerning at all to you that it stayed the same in your first action out there?

No.

to me, I feel good.

and I know it'll come, but, yeah.

I mean, it's, you know, it is what it is, but I mean, overall I feel healthy and, yeah, just, you know, I, I think it'll turn eventually.

When you say, "I know it'll come," I guess, what gives you that confidence?

The fact that I'm healthy, and, you know, I don't have anything going on in my shoulder or elbow or anything like that.

you know, I've, I've pitched like this before in the past and, you know, eventually it does come, but, you know, I think I just need more reps and, you know, I, I'm confident it'll come.
