Not A Given That Maple Leafs' Easton Cowan Joins Marlies For Playoff Run
Cowan was one of two players, along with Quillan, who were loaned to the Marlies at the trade deadline to make them eligible for the Calder Cup Playoffs.

Do you think the Leafs, given this direction that they're going in now as, as sort of a, a rebuilding team, do you think that they consider moving Stolarz?
I think so, and I know the, the que- I-- Let's just say this.
I don't think the question is would they consider moving Stolarz.
The question is whether somebody would take Stolarz.
And if you look at the market for next summer, for this upcoming summer, unrestricted free agency, the two top con- two top, items are Sto- Stuart Skinner and Freddie Anderson.
There are no really good options in unrestricted free agency.
And in terms of goaltenders that could be traded, Devin Levi, who is unproven in the NHL, Samuel Montembeault, who, if he's lost his job to Jacob Fowler and Jakub Dobes in Montreal, and Jordan Binnington, who has a year left in his contract in St. Louis.
There may be one or two others, but that's about it, and there are more than five or six teams that are looking for goaltenders.
Stolarz simply is not a starter.
He cannot play forty to fifty games.
He's a very good one-B.
now this year he was out for two months with a mysterious upper body injury, and now last night he, he kicks out his left pad and it looked like he hurt his knee.
you know, he's probably out for the season.
They only have four games left.
But do I think they can move him?
Sure.
I just don't think they're gonna get much for him.
They may even have to take a contract back.
But I do think the, whoever the new general manager is, and you know, there are reports that the, the Leafs have, permission to talk to Sonny Mehta, the, assistant GM of the Florida Panthers.
if it's him or if it's somebody like him, they're not gonna carry three goaltenders.
They need to address other areas and to clear three point seven five million, which is Stolarz's new deal, I think will be one of their top priorities in the summer.
