A huge commitment from five-star, 2028 edge, Darian Prescott.
Six foot six, 220 listed, but reportedly up more into the 250 range this off-season.
You were able to get a elite level talent out of your backyard, which I think is a testament to head coach Marcus Freeman, obviously, but it's also a huge testament to defensive line coach Charlie Partridge.
And you have to give some credit, of course, to Al Washington, who started to get things turned around in terms of defensive line recruiting over the last few years as well, before Coach Partridge, I think, just kind of kicked it up to a new level this off-season.
'Cause for a long, long time, there was a question of, can Notre Dame truly recruit elite defensive linemen?
And for a long time, it was the edge defenders where we looked at and said, "We need a couple more of those high-round draft picks."
Like, we need a few of them.
You had Isaiah Foskey back in the early 2020s, but like overall, you just haven't had enough l- legit premier talent coming off the edge.
And now you kind of blink your eyes, and despite those limitations and that perception, in four of the last five recruiting cycles now, including 2028 now, Notre Dame has landed a five-star edge by at least one of the major recruiting platforms
