Usually, when a player comes around for a 2nd stint with a team, it's never as good as the 1st stint.
Usually, it means that that player might be on the downswing of their career, but for Jason Pennock, that could be the actual opposite.
Because he came to prominence with the Giants pretty early in his career.
He only spent one year away, and it's, it's good to maybe believe that that was a philosophical difference, not a performance difference.
He didn't play poorly for San Francisco in 2025, they just had other people that they were putting.
Their faith in going into the future.
And so now, Pennett comes back at 27 years old, which is the prime of his career as a, as a safety in the NFL.
He can still have value as a starter, as a heavy rotational piece, and he can give you extra special teams depth.
It's a great signing for the Giants, and If Tyler Newman isn't ready to make another step in his progression, it could be the thing that leads him back to the starting lineup.
