Orlov Takes the Blame After Late Lead Slips Away in Sharks vs. Red Wings

Dmitri Orlov takes responsibility for the loss in the San Jose Sharks at Detroit Red Wings game on October 17, 2026. He says the second goal against was on him and walks through the back-door play: the puck was rolling, he wasn't sure whether to touch it, and he says he needed to get closer to his man. Orlov also explains why the power play was clicking for a couple of goals, compares a young teammate's poise with the puck to Nicklas Backstrom, and says a teammate who drew three penalties is already one of the best in the league.
