An Outside the Box Idea For Seattle Mariners in Series vs. Texas Rangers
The Mariners are going to need to pull out all the stops to beat the Rangers in Arlington; here's one idea they should consider.

Mariners-Rangers four-game series, Friday through Monday.
This is, for my money, the biggest series of the year, and it could be a season-defining series, at least on the negative side of things.
The Mariners are a half-game back of Texas right now.
If they lose three of four and fall to three-and-a-half back, if they lose all four and fall to four-and-a-half back, they'll be those games back.
There'll be a tiebreaker down.
To me, that coupled with the lack of momentum would feel like the end of the Mariners' season.
It, it really would.
As a result, I think the urgency in this series needs to reflect the importance of this series, and that comes from the players and their mindset, that comes from the coaching staff, and that comes from manager Dan Wilson.
This is the time to manage this series like a playoff series.
This is the time to manage this series from the top rope.
This is the time where if you have to pull a starter in the fifth inning because you need a key out from Gabe Speier or Jos Ferrer, you do it.
If you have to use Jos Ferrer for two winnings late because you used Speier early, then you have to do it.
If you have to use Andrs Muoz for a four-out save or for two innings, the ninth and the 10th, then you have to do it.
These are the things that this series requires.
The Mariners punted the ability to not have to manage it this way in the 103 games prior.
They're 51 and 52.
Their season is It's not quite on life support, but it's certainly, this is a major inflection point for their season.
They need to take this series at least to a split, if not win it outright as far as I am concerned.
And in order to do that, you are going to have to get aggressive in how you manage things.
The bullpen usage, the, you know, the, the being willing to push guys beyond their usual comfort zone.
Everything you have saved up for, it culminates now in this moment, in these moments, in this series.
