All roads lead to game day this weekend.
Michigan opens up in a new era, Vaughn, Saturday night under first-year head coach, Kyle Whittingham, who won 68% of his games at Utah.
The opponent, Western Michigan, the defending MAC champion.
How do you see this one playing out?
Yeah, I do think this is a perfect mix between, you know, program and head coach here for Michigan, Trissa.
You know that I've been a Wolverine supporter for years now.
I also have loved the Utah Utes, so I feel like Whittingham just fits the mold here for this Michigan team.
But this won't be a walk in the park in week one.
Western Michigan won the MAC last year.
They're the favorites to do it again.
That Broncos defense was kind of ridiculous for a MAC team, allowing 17.4 points per game last year.
They do have a new DC, a ton of new starters via the transfer portal, so it's one of those situations where you see a team that loses so much and you know they gain a lot, but you don't know how much they truly gain because you haven't got to see a lot of these players 'cause they played on lower levels.
But we know offensively, Brock Lowry is their quarterback of the future.
23 touchdowns, over 2,700 yards last year.
He has a good supporting cast around him, Trissa.
So what I'm about to say didn't make sense to me as of a week ago because the unders are always the play at Western Michigan, 8 and 3 against Big Ten schools.
They never cover, 2 and 9 in those 11 games.
But this is the best Broncos team they've had in quite some time, and this Michigan team offensively should take some steps forward.
So I'm looking at the over in this game.
I think it could cash here.
You get Western Michigan to score two or three times.
And I'm being honest, I would probably lean the Broncos to cover the spread.
It's a big number.
