Palestra Joins Chelsea, Spurs' Tonali Bid Accepted and more... Futbol Daily Transfer Roundup
Marco Palestra has joined Chelsea from Atalanta in a deal worth around £47m, while Tottenham Hotspur's £100m bid for Newcastle United's Sandro Tonali has been accepted by the Magpies. All of that and a whole lot more is covered in our daily transfer roundup.

There are some absolutely huge transfers ready to be completed during this window, guys, and some big ones that have been done in the last 24 hours or so as well.
Let's update you all today, the 2nd of July, 2026.
And the first one incredibly is that we're gonna have to talk about Sandro Tonali.
Tottenham Hotspur have gone back in with a second bid for the Italian midfielder, and Newcastle United have accepted 100 million pounds.
That is in addition to them, of course, spending 85 million pounds on Matheus Fernandes from West Ham United and the Van Hecke deal, which was 50 million pounds as well.
Spurs, criticize them all you want, and don't worry, I do regularly, but they are absolutely splashing the cash.
And given how bad they've been in the last two seasons, it's not really a surprise, but these are some huge deals that are ready to be completed.
And they're not done there.

They're also looking at Crysensio Summerville from West Ham as well.
A deal for him is reported to be around, what, 65 million pounds at least.
So you're talking about a quarter of a billion pounds on three players.
That is huge by anybody's standards.
But will it be enough for Tottenham to get back into the European race this season?
I, I think it could be.
I think it absolutely could be.
But we'll see how that all goes, as always, guys.
Randal Kolo Muani is the top target for Juventus during this summer, but if that doesn't work out, they'll instead go for Bryan Brobbey of all players from Sunderland.
Everton are looking to strengthen further as well.
They're looking at Villarreal's Pape Gueye and Parma's Belgian midfielder Mandela Keita, but only if their midfielder, Idrissa Gueye, doesn't sign a contract extension this summer.
Aston Villa are looking at Celta Vigo midfielder Iliax Moriba, and that would be a relatively bargain basement deal by today's standards, 15 million pounds for his services.
Curtis Jones looks set to stay at Anfield this season because he's reluctant to join Nottingham Forest, and Inter Milan are not willing to meet his asking price.
Premier League new boys Coventry City are set to come in for Swiss defender Aurele Amenda, who currently plays for Eintracht Frankfurt over in Germany.
Those are all the rumors for you today, guys.
Let's have a look at the done deals.
Chelsea, they have completed a big signing, Atalanta right-back Marco Pelestra.
He has joined the club for 47 million pounds, including add-ons.
He has signed a six-year deal, also known as a short-term contract, at Stamford Bridge with the option for a seventh year, and he's the first signing of the Xabi Alonso era.
Big signing down in the championship as well.
Stoke City, they have signed Northern Irish midfielder Ethan Galbraith for a reported 10 million pounds after also agreeing a deal for Sheffield Wednesday's Svante Ingelson earlier on Wednesday.
Galbraith was one of the very few bright sparks in a pretty awful Swansea City side last season, so we'll see how he gets on in the Potteries.
And the last one for you guys, Pascal Struijk has signed for Brighton & Hove Albion from Leeds United for a fee understood to be around 20 million pounds.
His contract was due up at the end of this season at Elland Road, so it's a good deal for both parties in my opinion if Struijk did not want to sign an extension, and it brings to an end an eight-year spell in West Yorkshire.
So yeah, those are all the done deals and rumors today on the 2nd of July, 2026.
