Florida Panthers assistant GM Brett Peterson will serve as the U.S. Men's National Team's GM at the 2026 IIHF World Championships for the second time.

Are you confident that the Panthers can rebound and be competitive again next season after, you know, what's gone on this year with all of their injury, injury struggles, or do you think that there are any questions that need to be answered outside of injuries with regard to their roster?
Well, they don't have a lot of cap space to address any areas of need, so they're really gonna have to hope that everything comes back to normal.
The- they're gonna re-sign Bobrovsky.
They didn't trade him at the deadline.
They're gonna try to get him on less than $10 million.
They're gonna re-sign AJ Greer.
They didn't trade him either.
I would not be surprised if they shut down Marchand, maybe even shut down Matthew Tkachuk and have their surgeries and recovery earlier.
And you, you have to They won't say it, but the factor that might be, at hand here is the Spencer Knight trade because they gave, they got, or they gave up a top 10 protected first round 20, 26 draft pick.
They're in ni- they're, ninth from the bottom right now.
They wanna keep a pick in this draft because this is a very good draft, whereas 2027 or 2028, depending on where that pick slides, won't be as good.
It will give them maybe another piece to trade for a big player or draft somebody who could be really good.
But, you know, they're gonna get Barkov back next year, and they're gonna get a lot of healthy players.
And just because the, you know, it'll be completely annoying for the rest of the Eastern Conference that they'll be back and stronger than ever, which is why I think that's what end, will end up happening.
