Jacksonville Jaguars and Duval getting that work at mandatory mini camp this week.
One of the folks, the fans want to see a lot of Parker Washington, seeing his production go up every single year for the Jacksonville Jaguars and doing great today because we have him on this edition of The Insiders, uh, here with Judy Batista.
It's Parker Washington as the Jags, uh, finishing up their, their mini camp work.
How's the offseason going for you, Parker?
Yeah, it's been amazing.
I'm just enjoying each day, making the most of it.
And it's just been exciting to just get out here with the guys and get on the same page, continue to work on things, fine tune, and, you know, just get ready for the season coming up.
You're coming off a real breakout kind of season.
5 touchdowns, 847 yards.
Liam Cohen said, uh, earlier this spring he sort of had watched your football knowledge go up, up, up and up as the season wore on.
Where do you think now going into next season you are in your football development?
Time to take the next step, you know, and um I'm in a situation now where I just, it's time to make the most of each opportunity.
Continue to have fun and just be myself, you know.
Um, there's been expressed to me that I, I'll get more opportunities this year and I'm excited for those opportunities and I just wanna make the most of those and I felt like even last year, there's some, maybe I left a little bit out there.
I just wanna clean those things up and fine tune and attack those things that I can work on and, and that'll help me this year for sure.
Uh, more opportunities, Parker, uh, means more playing time.
You, you had that last year , while also, uh, as you've become more involved in the offense, still performing your role as a punt returner.
Are you having to make, uh, any changes training wise, physically, as you are a bigger part of what the Jags want to do on offense?
I feel like for me, it's just uh continuing to attack that same process that got me to this point.
Yes, that means fine-tuning a couple of things as far as how can I get better cause there's always room for improvement.
So I feel like just fine tuning and I feel like that's the word or the words for this offseason for me is just fine tuning those details and just attacking that with that mindset and just having some fun.
And it's been exciting for me.
Just to see the growth, just in just a couple of days, you know, I, I find something to work on each day, you know, whether it's from the previous day where I was like, OK, I can improve on this, but just having that mindset, that's what got me here and I just want to continue to have that mindset and stay in that frame of mindset.
One thing the Jaguars have raved about with you is your versatility.
You can line up all over the place.
You can take the top off of defense.
You can go across the middle.
They can move you all around.
What part of your game do you like the best and maybe what part do you think you have the most to work on?
I feel like for me it's um just like you said, I feel like that versatility is everything, you know, I feel like in high school and just coming up as a young receiver, like I've always, I mean, I'm a, they would call me a more of a shorter guy.
But I felt like I always had that versatility to play outside and play in the slot.
So I felt like just through my career, just proving that worth, proving that value, and got into the league and got my opportunity to do that, a year or two when Chad Hall was here.
It was a funny conversation how that worked, but just being able to just continue to just prove my value and I feel like that just makes it easier for me.
Because it's like, it makes it tough on defenses.
They, they don't know where I'm gonna line up, and I feel like sometimes they don't know exactly which routes I'm running, so I feel like it's hard to game plan on that.
And then as far as just to work on, just seem to become a smarter player and those are those finer details that I continue to talk about and I feel like if I continue to hone in on that, you know, it's no ceiling to where I could take it.
And honing in on that with your now 2nd year head coach and Liam Cohen, who Parker is a passionate defender of you guys.
I saw him kind of excociate the the fantasy community, uh, talking about BTJ, uh, every single time it feels like there's a perceived slight.
Liam Cohen, uh, is there to step up for you.
What's that relationship been like, uh, with your head coach going into his 2nd year?
It's been exciting.
I feel like just how he can connect with the guys and keep everybody together, it's really impressive and I feel like that's why we've had the success that we've had and of course we wanna continue to take those steps to get better as a team and work on that, but I just feel like he has our back and when you know that your coach has your back, it just makes you wanna go out there and go plays for him, and not only for just for yourself.
So it's really cool what he's done with this organization and I know he's excited.
We're excited and let's go.
Speaking of connection, you obviously have one with your quarterback Trevor Lawrence.
He's going into his 2nd season under Liam Cohen.
This offseason, what have you seen from Trevor coming off such a great season last year for him?
Just the confidence and just going out there and just being himself, playing free.
And just bringing the guys together and he trusts us and we have his back , so it's just exciting to see how he's attacking each day and I know he's excited for this year as which he is for every year, and it's just cool to see him in his offense.
Like I said, I feel like Lim and our offensive staff just Made him feel more and more comfortable and I feel like as a team, we just got to continue to have his back and he's gonna go out there and do his thing.
Well, exciting opportunity for you guys.
Looking forward to seeing the 2026 Jacksonville Jaguars.
Looking forward to seeing what you can do.
